Quotable
Quotes

The masses have never thirsted after truth. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim.
~Gustave Le Bon

Imagine a fertile garden where the seeds of liberty grow free and strong. Devoid of elitist tyranny and it's fearful minions, humanity at last manifests the vision of it's founding fathers. Here, Enlightened Misanthropy reigns supreme.
~Vivian Britton

To think ill of mankind and not wish ill to them, is perhaps the highest wisdom and virtue.
~William Hazlitt (1778-1830)

Truly man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds them. We live by the death of others. We are burial places! I have since an early age abjured the use of meat.
~Leonardo Da- Vinci
(1778-1830)

I am considered a misanthropist now and then, because I do not socialize with many people. But it's only my mind that avoids you, my heart is still with you, and seeks the distance so that it can keep on loving you.
~Franz Grillparzer (1791-1872)

Dawn of the O-minion

Dare we define the devolved thing that willingly submits what remains of its' personal sovereignty into the hands of a manufactured Demiurge? An Illusion? An Obamanation? In common, politically socialist circles the answer would be an effeminate, limp-wristed, "no." We wouldn't want to offend any zombies after all (a soon to be protected class via some perverse hate-crime legislation, no doubt). Fingers are rightly pointing at the usurper currently infesting the white house, but I am not particularly concerned with the puppet himself, for he is but one man - yet another actor hand picked and groomed for the political stage.

No - it is the mass of idiots, who far outnumber the Demiurge, that concern the Enlightend Misanthrope.

Death by Vile Neighbor
On rare occasions I find myself crossing paths with individuals not only familiar with The Vile Neighbor phenomenon, but willing to take practical action against the pestilence that unabashedly wreaks havoc upon the innocent.

John Morgan Duty II and his illumined wife, Heidi Duty, are such individuals.  Upon hearing their story, I felt compelled to post the following excerpt from their provocative namesake, The Stevens County Shout:

It's Friday......So What?

They punch no time card. If they wanted to, they could play till the wee hours seven nights a week. Sunday nights are unmarred by nightmares of Monday morning alarm clocks, traffic jams, and saccharin "pleasantries" between company co-slaves. They have, presumably, traded city serfdom for rural freedom. Yes. The rat race remains but a distant memory to the fortunate few who've migrated to the relative solace of America’s backwoods.  If you ask, many will say they left the city behind to “be themselves." And yet.....

Group Think prevails.

Willie Nelson Takes on Big Dairy

As if there aren't enough reasons to appreciate Willie Nelson, the American icon's latest show of activism promises to benefit both man and beast. "As a cowboy, I must stand up for cows," says Willie in his petition to Land O' Lakes and Challenge Dairy, two of the nations largest dairy corporations. "That’s why I’ve joined more than 20,000 other concerned Americans in signing the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s petition urging you to please take action to stop the abuse of thousands of baby cows linked to Land O’ Lakes dairy products."

Uncovering the Truth

I recently appeared as a guest on the syndicated radio program, Uncovering the Truth, hosted by consumer privacy expert, Dr. Katherine Albrecht.

As founder of CASPIAN (Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering), Katherine plays a vital role in championing civil liberties that are currently under attack by RFID and a host of other technological Orwellian nightmares.

Speaking of nightmares, during the show we discuss the perils of navigating the modern grocery store while covering excerpts from my Sovereign Cook column. Click here to listen.
